Autonics Participates in
2019 KOMAF and Showcases New Product
Autonics, a Korean sensor and controller company, participated in the 2019 Korea Machinery Fair (KOMAF), held at KINTEX in Ilsan from October 22 to 25, where it introduced many of its newest products. The exhibition was an opportunity for the company to showcase its technological capabilities by displaying its sophisticated products, such as safety products and displacement sensors, before their official release.
Autonics selected a wide range of products from its VG vision sensor series, along with diverse motion devices, and it exhibited products specifically applicable to the machinery industry. Most of the products presented at the exhibition are significant in that the company succeeded in developing and commercializing its own technologies and paved the way for replacing imported products. The VG Series is a vision system successfully commercialized by Autonics for the first time in Korea, making it possible to meet domestic demands through locally manufactured products. The 5-Phase Stepper Motors were the first Korean motion devices successfully developed by the company.
Otis Elevator Korea Wins
2019 Red Dot Design Award
Otis Elevator Korea’s 10 Key Smart Ele received the 2019 Red Dot Design Award for Design Concept. This represents the first time that a Korean elevator manufacturer has won this award. Otis Elevator Korea had previously won other major international design awards: Germany’s IF Design Award in 2009 for its MiniTouch and the US’ IDEA in 2013 for its CompassPlus.
The company’s 10 Key Smart Ele has 10 buttons and two LCD screens, displaying information on the floor together with weather information. The black rectangular shape and chrome plating create a sophisticated and modern feel.
In case of emergencies, the elevator communicates in real time with the Otis Line, the central service operator, via videotelephony, allowing for a swift response. It also helps prevent crimes by automatically returning to the 1st floor and sending a notice to the security company once its sensors detect an emergency.
